I read there was one town in the south that changed hands 54 times in four years. Seeing as neither side had easy access to supplies, it's a surprise there was anything left of the town at war's end.
I began to think of what it was like for the non combatants of the town: the young children and women folk.
It seems all the eligible young men were off fighting. Pretty tough for a young girl of age.
I thought it would be fun to have a female voice tell this story. Pam Jones is a southern girl from North Carolina.
